Making The Most Of Your Sewing Machine with Barbara Merrett

Get to know your sewing machine! So many people have recently bought (or inherited) machines that we thought it would be a good opportunity for a familiarisation class! This is a comprehensive guide to what your machine can do. Barbara will cover the following(and more) :basic seams, including blind hemming,(stopping the edges fraying), basic machine appliqué, sewing on buttons, making buttonholes and basic free motion sewing. You don’t have to have a fancy machine, but it does need to be in good working order
Machine Quilting with Val Murray
Get to grips with machine quilting – straight lines, curves and stippling. Val will answer your questions on waddings, threads and technique. You will be working on small samples and you will need to bring your own machine. For free motion quilting you will need to be able to lower the feed dog on your machine This class should enable you to use your machine with confidence and make inroads into those unfinished projects. There will also be a chance to work with decorative thread. Bring any project you wish for advice
